when i do coding, or get an idea i put them into this source iv been working on just thought id tell you my updates

Seamless maps:

no more waiting for maps to load, the game loads as you play! now when you walk sideways, with scrolling map, youll keep walking until there are no more maps linked in that direction! its like the map size = all maps put together.

sound engine:
ok sound engine, monopack gave me his advanced FMOD sound system , making the game run faster and better.

intel and resistance:

intelligence now incrases magical damage done with spells, and resistance is a stat you can upgrade to lower the magic damage, makes more choices and specialitys

Coding:

changed some of the sadscript code into hard code and made the game more optimized:

Server went from 1.25 megs to 892 kb, and compiles in about 6 seconds
Client went from 14.8 megs to 14.4 megs (I'll get it down a lot more with optimizing), and compiles in only about 10 seconds

Buffs and Debuffs:
finnaly got this working, along with icons displayed in the top right hand corner of the game screen, AND to incrase game play managed to get Targets hpbar in top center of the screen, displaying buff/debuff icons, if any, player has on!

Map Rendering:
how the map tiles are loaded and blit'd was just bad, i redid this and now i gained 30+ FPS

Player casting animations:
i got very bored waiting for the gfx for sin to finish, and i threw together player animations, sowhen u cast a spell, you get a nice animation under the player sprite, insted of just the normal sword attack, boosting game feel.

Thinking about robins idea, the any sized sprite coding he was offering, i now have that in my engine, so i can have a 5x2 sprite or a massive 300x900 if i wanted, and this incrases performance a tad by removing bltplayertop sub

this is so people can see what i have changed in my engine waiting for sin gfx:

  • seamless maps
  • pic screen bug
  • 3 sound engines to 1 advanced one
  • player join sub fixed
  • took out unfinished / buggy buff spells
  • new type of map rendering to boost fps
  • converted main menu music to mps to cut 20 megs
  • took out useless unused encryption systems (2 of them) from default engine
  • fixed the edit npc's mixed up values
  • closeing the game was hassle, now fixed
  • removed fade to close as not used in vista machines
  • version and security code were commented out to quickfix the version error, fixed
  • removed flash code to boost game performance
  • removed the script editor, since weve only used notepad
  • moved some subs to hardcode
  • removed buggy high score /top5
  • removed the rest of the old account saving system since we mvoed to binary, sadscript was still
  • trying to write account stuff to the old .inis
  • switched back to normal accoun savin due to not been able to edit accounts
  • line of code that makes everyone with 0 exp have 0 access in joingame sub, removed
  • removed all nonscrolling code, since we'll never use normal none scroll maps
  • fixed the activity timer value to be between 5-10 mins, dont give exact values out ;)

im working with Sin, but i finish most of the stuff punika asks me to do within a day or 2. Then im helping monopack with Elysia, the new ELYSIUM / AS, i work on my unnamed game addin kewl stuffz, i work on my 3d game. and i help hyrule online out.


sin and my game come first, then i help the others.
