 power up weapons and armor

I got an idea of the game:
So, let's start:
If u kill a monster, u get an item(not on every monster, of course), let's say its a gem, there are different gems, diamond=defense
opal=attack or whatever... Then u can go to a blacksmith in the game, there u can give him the weapon or an armor and the stone, then(succes rate, what about 50%) he will strenghen the armor, or weapon, if it was an diamond=+5 damage
ur weapon does 5 damage more, same with armor, and every stage ur powering up ur weapons, armors and so on, the succes rate will be less
WAT ABOUT THAT?

That's a feature that I've had in my head all the time.
It's called Alchemist Enchanting, Combining.

Basically what you mean is,

You as a player combine 2 Items:
1 Main Weapon/Armor + Ingredient Item = 1 Upgraded Weapon/Armor.

While Processing...
There is a low percentage that it will fail on low enchant level. (+1)
There is a medium percentage that it will fail on medium enchant level. (+2/+3)
There is a high percentage that it will fail on high enchant level. (+5)

If it fails then your Main Weapon/Armor + Ingredient Item will be destroyed.
If it succeed then your Main Weapon/Armor + Ingredient Item will be destroyed and you will get 1 Upgraded Weapon/Armor of the same type as your Main Weapon was.

I think that is what you meant Yankaa?

for the item to be worth gemming, i wouldnt use this feature cus of loosing it would just suck ass.

Yup, it's just like gambling. Sometimes you win, Most times you lose.
In some games there is an item which protect your Main Weapon/Armor from destroying.

But that item is expensive so players can't buy it every time.

maybe u could buy charms(ingame, not real money), and these charms let the success rate be higher^^
i think i know the game u've played^^
and, after strengenin the weps and armors look different, so, at +1 maybe the shoulders (of armor) are bigger or sth. like that^^
maybe we could copy whole "hero-online" and give the weps another color after crafting^^

good luck finding someone to code this in lol, this is way out my league ;o its never been done in a es/ed game

It is nothing for us to copy a 3d game into a 2d game.
So which game were you thinking off?

You still remember that Punika wanted some basic features needed for the game for the beta.
All those Advanced feature should be on hold.
